Be the Star You Are!® 501 c3 has been honored every year to the list of top-rated nonprofits by GuideStar and GreatNonprofits, the leading providers of trusted data and user reviews for nonprofit organizations.

The top-rated nonprofits list is composed of organizations that have received positive reviews from stakeholders, such as volunteers, donors, or clients. Less than 1% of all registered non profits and charities are honored as Top Rated Non Profits. Be the Star You Are!® 501 c3 has received 100% five star reviews every consecutive year since the awards were initiated. Be the Star You Are!® won in two categories: Arts and Culture and Women's Empowerment.

The rave reviews were posted as part of Arts Appreciation Campaign conducted by GreatNonprofits, in partnership with Guidestar and a coalition of nonprofit organizations. “For all of the people who think that the arts is something that doesn’t touch their lives, they can think again after looking at this remarkable and diverse range of arts nonprofits. The mission of Be the Star You Are!® 501 c3 is to empower women, families, and youth through improved literacy, increased positive media, and tools for living. The charity is a volunteer organization that operates through contributions, in-kind donations, and proceeds from fund-raising events. Be the Star You Are!® does not receive state or federal funding and is solely dependent on contributions from the community and corporations. It supports all ethnicity’s and has no religious or political agendas or affiliations. The motto is “Read, lead, succeed!”

The radio program, Starstyle-Be the Star You Are!® is an outreach program of Be the Star You Are!® charity to increase literacy and awareness of books, art, and positive media. The producer and host, Cynthia Brian is the Founder/Executive Director of the charity and a segment called T42 is produced and co-hosted by Heather Brittany, who as a young teenager helped co-found the non profit. The award- winning program which has been broadcasting live since 1998 airs every Wednesday from 4-5pm PT/7-8pm ET on the Voice America Network, Empowerment Channel, which is the largest radio network in the world reaching 219 countries with 4.5 million listeners.

The teen program, Express Yourself!™ was also included in the Arts and Culture Award for dynamic, positive programming. One of our hosts, Katelyn Darrow was named a Harvey's Hero on the Steve Harvey show for her charity work and our Sport Talk Reporter, Hart Main and Social Responsibility host, Asya Gonzalez, were honored as two of the five top teen entrepreneurs in the USA, winning first and second respectively.
